Crop Swap Raglan
June 4, 2017 @ 9:30 am
Crop Swaps were developed to share the surplus of gardens and kitchens in a spirit of generosity and fairness, to connect with likeminded people and to foster local food production in kitchens and backyard
Crop Swap is now set to happen in Raglan, on the first Sunday of every month.
Meet at 9.30am to set up and check out everyone’s offerings. 10am we swap!
Bring anything to do with kitchen or garden. Smaller portions are useful, as its not direct swapping, everyone tends to take a bit of everything. Eg cutting a large pumpkin into smaller pieces 🙂
Remember what you think of as common, not everyone will have in their garden and will be excited to see, eg fejoas, silverbeet or parsley.
Seeds and seedlings from your garden are also popular.
How about preserves, kombucha or making a loaf of bread? Or do you have jars or bottles that you don’t use that might be useful to others? Can you make cheese or sauerkraut? Do you have a sourdough bug to share?
Please let friends who don’t use facebook know about this event, especially older members of our community, who can be amazing gardeners, but might not have heard about Crop Swap!
